VBD 310H - Bedford VAL 70 with Plaxton Panorama Elite C48F body (Originally C53F)
OWNER: Vals Classic Coaches, Staffordshire
VBD 310H was new to Coales of Woolaston in 1970.
VBD 310H has been through several operators since. When at Leicester?, the vehicle was configured by adding an door at rear to carry a lift for Wheel Chairs.
In February 1999, Vals Classic Coaches aquired the VAL, however it never entered service straight away until the seats had been refitted to make the coach an C48F. It was not until 2001/2002 that VBD 310H entered service with Vals Classic Coaches.
Over the past few years, VBD 310H has also attended many rallies with the Telford Bus Group. On 11th July 2005 VBD was used to take part in our annual free shuttle run between Telford Steam Railway, Horsehay and Moat House Hotel, Telford Centre. Also in October 2005, VDB attended BaMMOT, Wythall and was featured in Bus & Coach Preservation. Recently, on 26th August 2007, the coach took members to Stapleford Minature Railway show.
In July 2008, VBD 310H was taken off the road for minor bodywork repairs. Due to other commitments the coach has not yet been completed, but hopefully will be returning to the road in the near future.
